About

Professor Prem Kumar is a member of the Particle Physics and Cosmology Theory (PPCT) group. His  research interests lie at the interface of Quantum Field Theory and String Theory/Gravity.

After completing an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from  the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Prem obtained a PhD in theoretical physics from Carnegie Mellon University, USA in 1998, and subsequently held postdoctoral research positions at the University of Washington, Seattle, and Cambridge University . He held a 5-year PPARC Advanced Fellowship at Swansea University where he has been on  the faculty since 2005, and as Professor since 2012.
