I am a postdoctoral researcher interested in the effects of wildfires on the environment. My current research focuses on understanding and assessing the effects of fire on soils and water quality using a combination of laboratory, fieldwork, and modelling approaches.

I was awarded a PhD in 2021 from Swansea University. During my PhD I studied the effects of climate change on carbon dynamics in water-repellent and fire-affected soils. I obtained a Master (by research) from the University of Malta and a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Sciences from the University of Granada (Spain).

I am also interested in the processes involved in translating science into policy and I have experience working with policymakers and the public sector. I also enjoy outreach and public engagement activities.

Areas Of Expertise
