I teach Creative Writing, Fiction and Film at Swansea University. I am the author of two, dreamlike, playfully surrealistic novels, The Sleepwalkers’ Ball (2009) and The Known and Unknown Sea (2014), as well as a short story collection, Anywhere Out of The World (2016). I am also the author of Silent Film Comedy and American Culture (2014), An Introduction to Contemporary American Fiction (2002) and co-editor of The American 1920s (2004). My short fiction, essays and articles have appeared in the New Welsh Review, Planet, the Journal of American Studies, The European Journal of American Culture, and elsewhere. My new novel, The End of The Yellow House, a historical fantasy set during the Russian Civil War, is scheduled to be published later this year.
