Play 1st Team Football At Swansea

Our Women's Football programme offers aspiring footballers the opportunity to compete both domestically, and in the BUCS environment.

Through the programme, we recognise and develop great footballing talent. The programme is overseen by Jon Beale, Swansea University’s Football Performance Manager (click here to find out more about Jon’s role).

Our Women’s Football programme is a high achieving team, with our senior team playing in Tier 2 of the Welsh Football Pyramid and two BUCS squads who compete weekly throughout the academic year.

As a part of Sport Swansea’s Focus Sport programme, the Women’s 1^st team receive a funded head coach, as well as weekly strength & conditioning sessions and additional support from the team.

FAQs

When are trials?

Trials for this years intake will be held on Friday 30th September. Information for these will be available at Freshers’ Fayre.

Is there anything I need to do to sign up?

You need to complete a basic form relating to playing history when signing up for trials.

Do returning students need to re-trial?

No returning students do not need to re-trial.

How many BUCS teams do we have?

The Football Club has three men’s and two women’s BUCS teams.

Where do we train?

Training takes place at Swansea Bay Sports Park and Fairwood Training Ground.

Is there an intramural league if you don’t play BUCS?

Yes there is an intramural league that members can join if they do not play BUCS.
