Overview

Swansea University has a proud history of research activity related to early childhood. The importance of the first years of life should not be underestimated and longitudinal research evidences the long-term impact that high quality early education and care can have on children. The university has researchers focusing on young children from sociological, educational, and psychological perspectives from across the academic disciplines. As part of maintaining that collaborative research environment researchers work together through a range of networks and groups including:

  • Children’s Rights in Early Years Network

This Centre theme focuses on research for and with young children around play, participation, early years pedagogies, child rights, parental and community engagement.
