The Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law (IISTL) ran a webinar to mark the launch of Dr Youri van Logchem's monograph; "The Rights and Obligations of States in Disputed Maritime Areas", which was published by Cambridge University Press in October 2021.
The book examines the rights and obligations states have under international law concerning disputed maritime areas and it is the first comprehensive treatment of this highly topical and pressing issue.
The event attracted prestigious names in the law of the sea: Professor Natalie Klein; Professor Robert Beckman; Professor Robin Churchill, and was chaired by Sir Michael Wood. The panellists offered their views on this challenging issue and linked their analysis to the main themes developed in the book.
The School wishes to congratulate Dr Van Logchem for the publication of this scholarly work. It is a great addition to an impressive number of publications produced by the members of the IISTL.
