Preparing LLM students for their professional life after their degree and enhancing their employability prospects is a major priority at Swansea.

Through the connections that the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law (IISTL) have within industry and legal practice, an educational trip to London was organised for LLM students at the end of their first term.

The trip enabled students to learn about the structure of P&I Clubs and their work, in a session delivered by The International Group of P&I Clubs, hosted by the Steamship Mutual and Standard P&I Clubs. Following the session, the students had the opportunity to talk to Swansea Alumni and senior members of Steamship Mutual, developing useful contacts for the future.

Professor Leloudas and Dr Kurtz-Shefford accompanied the students, both expressing their gratitude to the hosts and praising the attitude of the students during the trip. Similar educational trips are currently being arranged for the second term.
