Why did you choose to study at Swansea University?
My careers teacher, Mrs Trew, was the first person to introduce me to the idea of studying at Swansea University. She explained how amazing the university is, especially for engineering, as the university is ranked very highly. I was instantly amazed by the information I found on the internet about Swansea University: UK top 5 student satisfaction, UK top 10 graduate prospects, UK top 10 university of the year, voted the UK’s most welcoming, friendly and trustworthy city and UK top 30 research university. I immediately knew that this university ticked all my boxes. I was very impressed with their connections with industry which ensures that courses are relevant to employers’ needs. Apart from their outstanding rankings, I was very impressed with the way they communicated with me. The admissions staff was always ready to help me with any questions I had. It was very evident that the university’s lecturers and staff members were extremely interested and involved with their students. To add to all the amazing factors of Swansea, I was very happy and excited to find out that the beach would literally be a few minutes away from my accommodation.

Can you tell us about your course and what do you enjoy the most?
I am in my first year of Medical Engineering. My course is a bridge between Medicine and Engineering. It is a unique course which enables me to get the best of both worlds. I learn about the human body and its involvement with technology. There are several aspects of my course that I enjoy. If I had to pick one it would be that my lecturers are extremely passionate about the courses they teach and they are approachable which makes online learning a lot less of a struggle.

What are your three favourite things about Swansea?
1.) The fact that the beach is only a few metres away from my room on Bay Campus.
2.) The friendly community of students.
3.) Swansea is a very scenic environment with numerous beautiful landscapes.

Would you recommend Swansea University to other international students?
Yes, most definitely.
