STUDENT HARDSHIP

At Swansea University, we know that sometimes life gets tough — especially for students balancing studies and finances. Supporting Swansea helps ease that burden by providing vital emergency funding to those facing unexpected hardship.

  • A gift of £75 could offer emergency assistance with essential living costs.
  • An annual donation of £120 could help ensure an estranged student can attend their graduation.
  • A monthly gift of £20 could contribute half the cost of the average hardship bursary, giving a student the stability they need to pursue their education.

Kate's Story

'I was really worried that that was going to be the end of my adventure here. I was very depressed and I was not handling it well.'

Rabhia's Story

‘Really, without the grant, I’m not sure what situation I would have been in.’

Tobi's Story

‘I know you might not know me and I might not know you, but your donation has actually made me a graduate right now and I want to use the opportunity to express my gratitude.’

Your generosity can change lives — helping talented students stay focused on their dreams today and build brighter futures tomorrow. Donate now to the Student Hardship Fund.

Supporting Sanctuary

Swansea University has been awarded University of Sanctuary status for the welcome and support it offers to people displaced from their homes by conflict.

We are raising funds for those fleeing conflict to find a safe space to study in Swansea. All donations, no matter how big or small, can help students like these to find some stability, and to learn and grow so that when the time comes to return, they can take their new skills, knowledge and resilience with them.
