Modules available through the medium of Welsh

A degree course is a combination of modules. Modules are worth a fixed amount of credits and you’ll need to successfully complete a series of modules amounting to 120 credits for each academic year. Some are core modules that you are required to study and others are optional modules to complement your interests within the subject.

The modules are delivered at level 4, 5 and 6. Level 4 corresponds to modules for first year students, level 5 corresponds to modules for second year students and level 6 corresponds to modules for third year students. Student passing a module gain the relevant number of credits, which then are put towards the full award of the degree.

A number of the latest teaching methods are used to teach Swansea University’s Welsh-medium modules which include multimedia teaching materials, video conferencing, residential courses, hands-on sessions which are organised by professionals and online resources. These support more traditional learning methods such as attending lectures and the library. Swansea University has an excellent teaching space dedicated for Welsh-medium education, thanks to our partnership with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. Through this dedicated space and the video-conferencing equipment housed within it, our students can follow Welsh-medium modules taught at other universities.
