The Applied Business Management foundation degree at Coleg Cambria is delivered in collaboration with Swansea University’s School of Management – where you are prepared for real business from day one.

You will engage with employer-led briefs, sharpen finance, marketing, operations and HR skills, while building and developing a portfolio that proves you can deliver. Study around work in the Business Management Centre, grow your network through guest speakers and industry links across Wales and beyond, turning classroom insights into effective impact.

When choosing the FDSc Applied Business Management degree you will study a broad spectrum of business and management topics (such as marketing, operations management, finance, accounting, strategy and human resource management).

Cambria has outstanding connections throughout North Wales, with guest business speakers, presentations and opportunities to network. We are an experienced provider of apprenticeship routes, including for business management. You will study in our HE Business Management Centre in Northrop.

This programme is designed for the student who wants to excel and reach the top level of global business management practice.

Your Applied Business Management Experience

The Applied Business Management degree allows you the flexibility to study business while you work, so you can use what you learn straight away. Taught by business-active tutors, the course combines the essentials: marketing, operations, finance, accounting, strategy and HRM with real projects, employer input and guest speakers. This degree will give you the skills needed for a successful career in the business sector.

Successful completion of all modules in Years 1 and 2 enables you to achieve a Foundation Degree (the FdSc in Applied Business Management). Completion of the FdSc will allow progression onto the BSc Applied Business Management in Year 3 where you will study 3 modules.

The modules have been designed to focus on Learning Outcomes - two of which will be personally and professionally developed between the student, personal tutor and employer mentor. These outcomes will form part of a learning contract and provide the basis for coursework and assessment, for example, a portfolio of evidence and written report.

Employment Opportunities

Students with a Business Management degree are very employable as they have the full range of business skills needed. Opportunities for careers include accountancy, marketing, human resources, logistics, business development and sales.
