In response to the growing global demand for professionals with expertise in both computing fundamentals and cyber security, Swansea University have developed our BSc in Computer Science and Cyber Security.

You will build a thorough understanding of core computer science concepts such as programming, software engineering, systems architecture, and data management, with cyber security principles embedded into the curriculum, reflecting the reality that security cannot be treated as an afterthought but must be considered at every stage of system design and implementation.

Your Computer Science and Cyber Security Experience

With a teaching curriculum shaped by industry, and staff that are experts in their fields, from world-leading cyber security experts, to BAFTA-nominated game developers and researchers collaborating with Airbus, Microsoft, HSBC and Siemens, you can be sure that your learning experience reflects real-world developments and challenges.

You will learn in state-of-the-art labs within our £32.5m Computational Foundry and will have opportunities to collaborate with your peers and showcase your work to industry at our annual Project Fair, building a portfolio of work that will demonstrate your advanced skills and experience to potential employers.

This course offers you the opportunity to spend a Year in Industry, in the UK or overseas, enabling you to gain valuable workplace experience. The University advocates for paid-only placements, which on average have a salary of over £20,000. Unpaid placements are considered on a case-by-case basis.

You also have the opportunity to undertake a Year Abroad, enhancing your learning and offering invaluable life experience.
