My name is Xinyue Lin, I’m from China and I’m studying Global Business Management at Swansea University.
The reason I chose Swansea is the ranking of the Business School, which is ranked 83rd in the World in the QS World Rankings.
I’m a traditional Chinese student, and when I started at Swansea my listening and speaking in English weren’t very good, and I found I had a gap when studying and completing my assessments. At
first, I had quite a low grade but thanks to my own efforts, and the teaching (the lecturers and classmates are very friendly and kind), I was able to learn how to complete the assessments well,
and now I hope to get a first at graduation.
I want to be a businessperson in the future, going in to the media or maybe government, or perhaps private businesses. I think this year has improved my knowledge but also my practical skills in
management and business. I also learned some very useful language from this class and have improved my English skills.
During my time at Swansea, I’ve attended a lot of clubs, like the K-Pop Club and Dance Club. The societies at Swansea are also very colourful – you can enjoy whatever it is that you like to do,
and they always create a relaxing time and space.
I’m a 3+1 student in China, so I’ve completed three years at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, and have joined the Business Management Top-Up Degree to have a higher standard of degree overall. I
also want to go on to postgraduate study in England, Australia or Hong Kong. So the Top-Up Degree is just the first mountain before I apply for my master’s – if you choose a Top-Up Degree at
Swansea University, then I think it’s very good for your future.
