Stephen (Steve) Hiles joined in 2019 and is a Trial and Data Assistant working for Swansea Trials Unit (STU).

Steve has 25 years of health research experience with a proven track record across a broad range of disease areas and research delivery settings. Starting his career in the lab at a Phase 1 clinical trials unit in Leicester, before joining the NHS, supporting diabetes (mostly Type II) research. A move to South Wales allowed him to be involved with clinical trial delivery for Health and Care Research Wales, across the region.

Particular interests are around drug resistance in infectious diseases (TB) and the early detection and prevention of diabetes.
