About

My research interests are in the area of comparative federalism, intergovernmental and local government coordination and accommodation of internal nations in diverse societies. I was Co-Investigator in a research project on ‘Dynamics of group conflicts in multinational, multi-level states’ at the University of Konstanz (PI: Prof. Nathalie Behnke) investigating the links between non-state regionalist parties and self-reinforcing decentralisation. Prior to coming to Swansea University, I worked as a post-doc Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh in the ESRC funded research project ‘The Future of the UK and Scotland’ in light of the Scottish Independence Referendum 2014.

My research has been published in internationally leading journals such as Publius, Regional & Federal Studies, Political Quarterly and with Oxford University Press. In 2017, I guest-edited a Special Issue with Publius: The Journal of Federalism on ‘Territorial Politics and Institutional Change: A Comparative-Historical Analysis’ together with Jörg Broschek (Wilfried Laurier University) and Simon Toubeau (University of Nottingham).
