Angella began her career as an English teacher in secondary schools in South Wales. Since moving from the classroom to teacher education in 2003, she has had specific responsibility for leading a number of modules and courses. These have included being programme director for a PGCE Secondary programme, Lead for Languages and Literacy across a suite of programmes and strand manager for MA (Ed) modules in literacy. She has also supervised a number of MA dissertations on a range of topics.
Her professional interests lie particularly in exploring literacy in secondary school settings, with a focus on disciplinary literacy. Angella is also interested in evidence based practice, as well as in teacher development.
