PGR Conference: Communicating Research in a Climate Crisis

What does it mean to be a postgraduate researcher in the context of a climate crisis and biodiversity decline?

Join us for our conference "Communicating Research in a Climate Crisis" which considers this question. The conference will take place on:

  • Wednesday 15th April 2026
  • 10:00-17:00
  • Mall room, Taliesin, Singleton Campus
  • All welcome

Please register your attendance here

This student-led conference will give PGR students the opportunity to present their research to a multi-disciplinary audience, practice presentation skills, and receive feedback in a friendly environment.

Our aim is to bring together PGRs from across different disciplines at the university and celebrate how their research contributes to the Climate Action Research Institute’s themes:

  • Agriculture, land use, biodiversity and the ecosystem crisis
  • Extreme weather, sea level, coast and cryosphere
  • Social, political change and circular economy
  • Changing ourselves and our university
  • Technologies for a just transition
  • Wellbeing, communication, stories, education and cultural change

We invite abstract submissions relating to the themes, but also the ways you may have acknowledged or accounted for the environmental impact of your research, from reducing your carbon footprint, to encouraging community engagement.

However big or small the actions are, we want to facilitate a discussion about what we can do as postgraduate researchers.

We will be holding regular Institute events please check your emails for the upcoming dates.
