The Circular Economy Innovation Communities (CEIC) Spring Conference will be held on Friday March, 24 at the Swansea.com Stadium and is an open invitation for environmental champions from throughout South Wales and beyond to discuss how well-designed, incremental efforts can have substantial impact.
The CEIC programme enables colleagues from across the public and third sectors to collaborate and create communities of practice (COPs) to develop innovative solutions to probably the biggest challenge of our generation.
The event will feature various keynote speakers who will present on a wide range of subjects relating to both circular economy and the impact of the climate emergency is having globally.
Keynote speakers:
Professor Elwen Evans KC, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean- of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Swansea University
Phil Reid, product manager, community builder & social learning leader. chief technology officer, JP Morgan Chase: Ignite the power of your people with communities of practice
Dr Emil Evenhuis, researcher of Urban and Regional Development within the Department of Urbanisation and Transport of PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency: Spatial implications of the transition to a Circular and Sustainable Economy: Findings from a scenario-study for The Netherlands
The conference will also showcase the amazing work that is going on across South Wales public services to tackle the climate emergency. Several of the cohorts that have been taking part in both the Swansea Bay and Cardiff Capital regions, will present on the innovative work they have been doing both on CEIC and back in their organisations.
The conference will create opportunities to meet existing and past participants to learn about what they have been doing and speak to the CEIC team.

Morning Session: Hear from keynote speakers, as well as learning more about the efforts the CEIC Wales participants are making to address the climate emergency.
Afternoon Session: What will the future of Wales look like?This an open forum for participants, alumni and anyone that is interested in shaping the future of Wales sustainably including embedding circular economy principles.
