As part of Adult Learners Week (20 - 26 September 2021), Swansea University will be holding a free course encouraging adults to develop new skills.

Organised through the Swansea Academy for Inclusivity and Learner Success (SAILS), in association with the BA Humanities (Part-time) degree, Learn and Change will provide a first step on the journey into higher education for those 21 and over who have not been to university.

Throughout the five-week course, attendees will learn valuable facts and techniques, share their experience and knowledge, and explore their options.

Importantly, participants can choose to study at a venue that best fits their daily life and schedule. Options include:

  • Dove Workshop, Banwen - From Tuesday 21 September, 10 am to 12 pm
  • Phoenix Centre, Townhill - From Thursday 23 September, 10 am to 12 pm

Claudia Mollzahn, Adult Outreach and Engagement Officer at Swansea University, said: "We are beyond excited to offer a new programme as part of Adult Learners Week this Autumn.

"The Phoenix Centre and the Dove Workshop have a close connection with Swansea University, which goes back years. With the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, both centres are keen to work with us on this in-person short course for people who want a change in their lives and are searching for opportunities to make this happen.

"Anybody who is 21 and over and who has not been to university can attend."
