'I chose to come to Swansea because it’s a nice, busy city, and I can’t deny that the university being right by the sea wasn’t a huge attraction. Because it’s a campus based university there’s a great atmosphere here; it’s big enough for there to be plenty of variety and lots of things to do, but not so big that you’re just one of a crowd. I chose the course as there is lots of choice, I have studied modules in Politics and International Relations and in my final year I had the opportunity to take an internship module working in the Welsh Assembly, which is an amazing – and quite revealing experience! I had the chance to see ‘behind the scenes’ of Welsh politics. When I first came to visit Swansea University, I was given a Politics and International Relations brochure which said ‘Open your mind’ on the cover. Four years later, I can say that I certainly have. Studying Politics gives you the chance to ask questions, find answers, and then ask a whole lot of new questions! The Department has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the lecturers and other staff do their best to make you feel at home.'
