Individual Practice Rooms

Individual practice rooms are available on both campuses. Each room contains an upright piano, and they are available to all students 8am - 10pm daily. There is no charge for use, and they can be booked in advance if desired.

If there is a fault or problem in the room please email roombookings@swansea.ac.uk, while the fault is being investigated the practice room will be put out of order. For any queries do get in touch. Happy practising!

Performance Spaces

The University's flagship performance venue is the Great Hall, a 500-seater auditorium with fine acoustics located on the Bay Campus. The Great Hall hosts several student performances every year. In addition to the Great Hall, our ensembles and choirs perform regularly on Singleton Campus and elsewhere in Swansea.

Group Rehearsal Spaces

Our ensembles and choirs rehearse on Singleton Campus, in Fulton House.

Instruments

As well as practice room pianos, we have a Kawai grand piano for use by our ensembles and choirs and by a small number of students who play piano at an advanced level. The Great Hall houses two grand pianos which are available for concerts (a Steinway Model D and a smaller Yamaha grand), and a three-manual Regent Classic digital organ.
The Musicians' Society have a full range of orchestral percussion for use by our ensembles.

Sheet Music

The student societies maintain an extensive library of orchestral sets, choral music, big band, wind orchestra and other ensemble music. New music is added to this library every year, giving our ensembles and choirs considerable freedom in their choice of repertoire.
A modest selection of sheet music and books about music is held in the University library.
