Wales Civil Society Human Rights Stakeholder Group
The Governance and Human Rights Research Group is pleased to host the Wales Civil Society Human Rights Stakeholder Group (HRSG) archive. The HRSG membership is non-governmental organisations and academics with an interest in human rights. The HRSG is also attended from time-to-time by observers from Welsh Government, the Senedd and the Welsh commissioners offices.
Objective
The HRSG’s aim is to promote better understanding of the international human rights framework and its monitoring cycles, to improve compliance with treaty body recommendations and to report on progress. In addition, the group seeks to identify opportunities for influencing the Welsh Government and UK Government on implementation of human rights in Wales and to contribute to raising public awareness.
