My Clearing Experience

I decided that I would enter Clearing before exam results day. Over the summer I had had time to reflect and know that I wanted to be able to change my university choices. I chose Swansea University based on a positive experience I’d had when visiting for an open day.

My Studies

The joint honours degree in English Literature and History, enabled me to combine my two favourite subjects, while being able to study across a wide range of interesting modules and topics. I have been able to tailor my module choices and assignments to my own interests as well as exploring new texts and topics.

Modules I have enjoyed this year include: Making History, Medieval Europe, The Past in its Place (Fieldtrip module), English Essentials, The Stage Play World and Literature and Society in Medieval Europe. The staff are helpful from my personal tutor to the library staff. Everyone at the university wants you to succeed.

Extracurricular Activities

I joined the History Society, which has enabled me to meet so many more people beyond my classmates. I have also taken up archery, which I love and am now part of a supporting team to shoot with.

Why Choose Swansea

The university is amazing, aside from my lectures, I love the university’s Richard Burton Archives and the fact that I can study right next to the beautiful Botanical Gardens. My first Year at Swansea University was amazing. I’ve had some amazing experiences; the location is great, and I’ve made so many friends. I’m looking forward to continuing my Swansea University journey.
