This Code of Practice is designed to provide a summary overview of key processes involved in the effective design, development, approval and review of academic programmes in Swansea University.
Guidance within this document is aligned to the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) UK Quality Code, Expectations for Standards, and Quality Core and Common Practices (May 2018), and the Advice and Guidance on Course Design and Development (November 2018).
Swansea University principles and processes for the design, development, approval and review of new and revised programmes are reviewed annually, to ensure continuing fitness for purpose, and to take account of updated advice from the QAA in respect of the UK Quality Code itself, and revised Characteristics Statements and Subject Benchmarks.
