Chris Corcoran, aka “Korkey” is a comedian, writer and broadcaster. After graduating in 1993 with a BA degree in History and Politics Chris became a history teacher. However, comedy called and it wasn’t long until Chris got his big break supporting Rob Brydon on his tour of Wales in 2009. In 2010 he took a stand-up show “What Goes On Tour, Stays On Tour” around the country and also took a revised version of the show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Korkey was a regular co-host on Rhod Gilbert’s BBC Radio Wales show and also hosted his own show on Saturday afternoons. He played a supporting role to the three puppet stars Dib-Dab, Scribble and Stick, in the Cbeebies show Doodle Do. His writing credits include the series Man Down for Channel 4 and the animated series of the classic Beano characters in Dennis & Gnasher Unleashed.

His memories of his time at Swansea University include: that the journey time along the seafront into campus varied dependant on the wind - into a headwind about an hour, wind-assisted about nine minutes; jam-packed pubs and hostelries on the Mumbles mile and the opulent majesty of the end destination, Cinderella’s nightclub; buying five cakes from the local bakery, who were having a sale, and eating them all in one go due to exam stress; going out for a curry for the first time and of course, world class lectures.
