Get Involved in Sustainability Related Events, Activities and Initiatives

At Swansea University we offer students, staff and the local community opportunities to get involved in our work to improve practices across our campuses and help us continue to lead the way in developing a more sustainable future for all. We regularly hold working groups across the year on a variety of sustainability topics including carbon management, Fairtrade, environmental management and waste. From knitting, sewing, crocheting, making, drawing & cooking - an informal gathering of all things creative! Also, bring any spare seeds you have left over or collected (in labelled packets or envelopes please). Don’t worry if you don’t have any seeds, you can always buy them for a small donation.

Bring your lunch and learn all about the work of the Fairtrade Foundation during Fairtrade Fortnight 2020. There will be Fairtrade on Film, taste testing, testing your knowledge and a chance to enter into a free prize draw to win a Fairtrade hamper. Co-op (Bryn Road) will be providing the Tea & Coffee.

Fairtrade Bike / Led Ride 3/3/20 12pm - 1:30pm Meet outside the Great Hall (Bay Campus) or outside Fulton House (Singleton Campus)  Staff & Students

Join the Sustainability team on a Fairtrade Bike Ride. Leaving from both campuses at 12 noon and meeting at the Environment Centre in Swansea for a Fairtrade cuppa or treat, before returning to campus.

Knit & Natter (with Fairtrade brownies and biscuits) 3/3/20 12:30pm - 1:30pm  Central Space at Taliesin (Singleton Campus)  Staff & Students 

Join us for the weekly knitting club in the Taliesin and some homemade Fairtrade goodies and free Fairtrade Tea & Coffee. Co-op (Bryn Road) will be providing the Tea & Coffee.

 
Beach Litter Pick (followed by Fairtrade Hot Chocolate) 4/3/20 1pm - 4pm Bay Campus Beach & Swansea Bay Beach   Staff, Students & Public 

Join in the Fairtrade Beach cleans at Bay Campus beach and Swansea Bay beach. Followed off by some warming Fairtrade hot chocolate. Co-op (Bryn Road) will be providing the hot drinks.

Our Sustainability Award is available to any student, of any subject, in any year of their degree!

It's formally recognised alongside your degree, and even contributes towards your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)
