About
I have worked in clinical and academic roles across a variety of settings including universities, high, medium and low secure mental health, prison and probation and in the community. Currently my work - teaching, research and clinical practice - spans a number of areas of forensic and clinical psychology such as:
- assessment, formulation and treatment of individuals who commit crime; those who engage in self harm; those with complex mental health or trauma histories or personality difficulties
- supporting and supervising staff who work in forensic mental health, criminal justice and other settings using trauma informed approaches
- developing and testing novel interventions to engage and work with individuals within the criminal justice system and other vulnerable and 'hard to reach' groups
Much of my work involves engagement with other agencies and stakeholders including Health Boards and Social Services departments, Prison and Probation services, Public Health Wales and the Third Sector.
I am a chartered forensic, clinical and coaching psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a registered forensic and clinical psychologist with the HCPC. I am a Fellow of the BPS and a Senior Fellow of Advance HE.
