About

I am the Subject Lecturer for Design and Technology in Initial Teacher Education. I have been working as a Design and Technology teacher in the Secondary school setting for a number of years. During my time I have developed schemes of work, run whole staff insets, chaired numerous Teacher Learning Communities and have also worked as a Pastoral Head of Year. My main interests for research are the use of ICT to improve pedagogy both in school and at home, wellbeing of staff and pupils and the use of Coaching and Mentoring within the school setting. I have also researched the impact of using a Virtual Learning Environment to support classroom teaching during my Masters in Educational Practice. I have a keen interest in action research and believe in a research based approach to developing strategies. One of my key philosophies is that learning never stops and we should always strive to better ourselves and keep our practice up to date, particularly in an ever developing and changing world.
