A Swansea University student is one of only four students nationwide who has secured a grant of £10,000 after taking part in a new personal and professional development learning initiative.
Ryan Lysycia, a student at the university’s Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law, along with 19 other students from the university, took part in the Santander Student Online Self-Development Programme.
This initiative has seen Santander Universities UK join with Sporting Edge, a high-performance consultancy that blends powerful insights with proven psychology, to create an 8-hour online course.
This year, 1,386 students from 73 universities nationwide took part in the course which focussed on performance themes including Personal Drive, Learning Mindset, Confidence, and many more. Once finishing each module, students had the opportunity to consolidate their learning by completing an online quiz. The four students following a highly competitive process in line with the T&Cs were awarded a Santander development grant of £10,000 each, that they can use to support their professional or personal development.
Ryan said: “I am grateful that I had the opportunity to access the insights presented in this programme, such as the influence of a growth mindset, how to learn from our mistakes and the significance of effective goal setting.
“For me, the grant is an investment in my future career and will contribute towards the next level of my education: The Legal Practice Course. I look forward to applying the skills developed from the Self-Development programme in my aspirations as a lawyer.”
