Course Overview

The aim of the ELTS Teacher Training course is to offer a preliminary teacher-training certificate for those who teach or would like to teach English to speakers of other languages. You will also gain the recognised Cambridge Teacher Knowledge Training qualification (Module 1) suitable for:

  • a pre-service or a practising teacher
  • teaching primary, secondary, or adult learners
  • a non-first language or first language English speaker
  • a teacher who wants to gain formal recognition of your experience, keep your teaching skills up to date and develop your career opportunities. (Cambridge 2020)

As part of your ELTS Teacher Training application process, you must download and complete an Application Task. Your completed Application Task must be attached to your online application.

Entry Requirements

English level of 5.5-6.5 (B2 CEFR)

Five GCSEs with English Language C or above

Other English Language qualifications taken into account

Successful interview and task

Over 18 years old
