The event below is cancelled this year. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Please get in touch with email@example.com if you would like to be added to the mailing list for next year's summer school.
The Summer School in Ancient Languagesnormally takes place at Swansea University In July. There are intensive courses on Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Latin and Greek. Courses are open to all ages 12+. 12-18 year olds are welcome when accompanied by an adult who takes full responsibility for the child.
The courses will be taught on the Singleton campus of Swansea University. We have the Egypt Centre on site, Swansea beach is but a minute’s walk away, a short bus trip will get participants to the city centre with museums (Swansea Museum, Waterfront Museum, Dylan Thomas Centre etc.) and the Marina, and the beautiful Gower peninsula can be reached by bus from the city centre for those interested in exploring its history and nature. With the many historical sites (not just Roman), the National Botanic Gardens, National Trust and Cadw properties all at less than 40 minutes away, we're ideally located for a language-intensive course with plenty of scope for exploring South Wales.
If you have queries, please contact Maria-Elpiniki Oikonomou (M.E.Oikonomou@Swansea.ac.uk).
