What is User Experience?
Our lives are now dominated by digital products such as websites and mobile products. We interact with them every day we them in many aspects of our lives. Users of products usually have a goal end mind, not just using a website or app.
Questions that run through the minds of users as they interact with products:
- “Can I do what I need to do?
- "Can I find the information I need?"
- "Is it easy to use? "
- "Is it pleasant to use?”
User experience (abbreviated as UX) is how a person feels when interfacing with a product. At Swansea University we want all our digital products to answer these questions effectively whilst providing an exceptional user experience and support all users in acheiving there goals.
USER RESEARCH AT THE UNIVERSITY
User research is conducted so as to understand users’ characteristics, aims, and behaviors towards achieving these aims. Engaging with end users is critical to ensuring a great user experience as all the design and development decsions are user-led and evidence based.
