Dr Pete Arnold is a Software Engineer with 30 years experience in academia and industry in both biosensors and media technology on diverse projects from single-chip multi-analyte sensors to driver development and enterprise management systems.
Pete obtained a BA in Engineering and Electrical & Information Sciences and a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Cambridge. He then spent time as a project leader in a biosensor spin-off company before moving into industrial software engineering.
He is now a Senior Data Scientist at the SAIL Databank working as a Data Analyst on research projects and as a Software Engineer for development projects.
Dr Arnold’s research interests include multi-scale modelling in systems biology, high-performance computing, health data research (and how that works with ‘omics data) and small-group teaching.
He is currently Acting Programme Director for the MSc in Health Data Science.
