Dr. Tur Porres is lecturer and programme director of the Early Childhood Studies at Swansea University School of Education. Gisselle’s background is in Initial Teacher Education, Early Childhood Studies and Educational Policies in both Early Childhood Studies and Initial Teacher Education. She has previously led university pedagogic programmes in Initial Teacher Education and undergraduate programmes in Early Childhood Studies in Ecuador, and has directed a country educational assessment programme in Uruguay. Gisselle has coordinated research projects in Belgium, Ecuador and Uruguay. Gisselle has been founder member of the Ecuadorian Association for the Promotion of Educational Research (AsEFIE) and has represented AsEFIE in the World Education Research Association (WERA).

Gisselle has been co-principal researcher on the project ‘State of the art and policy guidelines on teacher training in Early Childhood Education: a comparative study of the pedagogical universities of Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras and Mexico’. She has been research associate on the following projects: ‘Children's approach to family and community relationships’ and ‘Describing research and educational innovation processes on the training of Early Childhood teachers in Ecuador’. Gisselle is currently exploring ‘School emancipations’ perspectives.


Gisselle has been volunteer of the Expertise Network JUVEN project, sharing expertise on Youth Care and juvenile delinquency; coordinated by Step international Belgium (Flanders) and SIRPA (Youth Care and Youth Offenders’ System) Uruguay.
