Dr Elain Price lectures in media, with the majority taught through the medium of Welsh. After receiving a BA in film and television studies at Aberystwyth University she went on to study for an MPhil in broadcasting history by studying the history of the closure of TWW from Welsh broadcasting and the creation of Harlech Television company to the ITV network in 1967/8. In 2002 she joined Screen Cymru Wales as an Education Manager, where she was responsible for organising Ffresh, the Student Media Festival of Wales between 2003 and 2005. She also worked for a software company B-DAG (renamed Awen in 2006), as a marketing and sales manager between 2005 and 2006. In 2006 she returned to the world of study in order to complete a PhD on the history of Sianel Pedwar Cymru’s formative years, a study completed in 2010 with funding from the Centre for Welsh Medium Higher Education. In 2011 she joined Academi Hywel Teifi as a media lecturer. Her main research areas are broadcasting in Wales - in particular the progress and history of S4C and the independent television sector, the development of children's television programs in Welsh and Welsh animation.
