Proof of enrolment and funding

After enrolling and you have a University and Library ID card:

  • If you have a student loan, the Student Records Office sends proof of enrolment to the Student Loans Company (SLC). This triggers the first maintenance payment into your bank account and tuition fee payment to the University (where appropriate).
  • For University bursaries, scholarships and grants, the Student Records Office confirms your enrolment to our Finance department which triggers the first maintenance payment into your bank account.
  • Please note the first maintenance payment is made a few days after you enrol and may not be in your account by the 1st day of the month. If you rely on this payment to pay bills or make other regular payments, to avoid going overdrawn we suggest you set up instalments to start after the 7th day of the month.
  • The University sends details of full time enrolled students to Swansea Council for them to assess if you are eligible to receive Council Tax exemption.

Official letter

  • If you need an official letter confirming you are a student, for example to open a bank account, you can get one printed at a proof of enrolment venue.
