Through the Trent-Swansea partnership, we offer a dual degree leading to a Bachelor of Science Chemistry degree (BSc) from Trent and a Single Honours Chemical Engineering degree (BEng) from Swansea University, which is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).

If research is your passion, there is also the opportunity to top-up to a Single Honours Master of Engineering degree (MEng). There is also the opportunity to transfer to the Year in Industry scheme at Swansea University, which is a Co-op Programme that adds an additional year to your time in Swansea and gives you real-world experience to boost your employability.

Hear from a Trent/Swansea student

Both Swansea University and Swansea the City allowed me to feel at home while being hundreds of miles away. Swansea is such a friendly city and the university is more than willing to help you get adjusted in any way they can …and the staff are so incredibly amazing!

Swansea was able to give me hands on labs, with my group being able to build a working rig (based off “client” demand) and we were also able to design a high standard of process plant for our final year dissertation. The laboratory skills and etiquette I gained from Trent was crucial in my success. The hands-on experience… helped me to gain a thorough understanding of all my topics and allowed me to apply techniques that up until that point were only theory.

Swansea being in the UK allowed for me to travel, when I had breaks at school, this experience has allowed me to be more immersed in culture and have the ability to apply these problems I’ve seen around the world to my schoolwork and now in my job. PLUS the campus is on a beach! How crazy is that!
