A half hour (approx.) programme produced by Angel Productions with Birkbeck, Unvieristy of London, to help doctoral and masters students approach their viva with confidence.  The programme covers:

The Good Supervision Video

A half hour (approx) programme produced by Angel Productions with Birkbeck, University of London, to help doctoral students get the best from their relationship with their supervisors.  The programme covers:

  • How supervision is organised
  • What support to expect
  • How to get the feedback you need
  • How disciplines differ

The PhD Survival Video

Through drama scenes and interviews with doctoral candidates, supervisors and counsellors, this 34 minute video discusses how the stress and pressure of a PhD can be made manageable.  It offers practical advice for dealing with common problems and surviving, including:

  • Self-help strategies for doctoral students
  • What they should and should not expect from supervisors when they are struggling
  • The support they should find in their institutions to help them get through
