Swansea University will be Swansea City’s front of away shirt partner and will sponsor the club’s travel and training wear for the forthcoming 2022-23 season.
Swansea University’s logo will sit on the front of the first-team’s new away shirts and travel and training wear for the duration of the upcoming Championship campaign. The logo will therefore feature on the away shirts of the first team, as well as the club’s under-23, under-18 and ladies’ teams.
The continued partnership also means that young fans can continue to wear the exact same away shirt as their Swansea City heroes for the third season running.
Swansea University will also retain its status as the club’s Exclusive Higher Education partner.
It was announced last week that the club has made the decision to split the sponsorship of its home and away shirts to allow two Swansea businesses to feature on the home and away shirts respectively and to increase the exposure of both brands. The award-winning residential property developer Westacres has been announced as the Swans’ home shirt sponsor for the upcoming season.
Rebecca Edwards-Symmons, head of commercial at Swansea City, said: “We are thrilled that Swansea University will adorn our away kit for the 2022-23 season, after fantastic feedback from our supporters. Swansea University are completely aligned with our business and the long-standing joined up way of working is clear for our community to see.
“We have an excellent relationship with Swansea University and are looking forward to continuing our partnership which encapsulates our club and our city.”
Swansea University will also continue its West Stand stadium sponsorship, and its branding will also feature on SwansTV Live fixtures streamed to the club’s international and UK supporters.
Niamh Lamond, Swansea University’s Registrar and Chief Operating Officer, said: “Swansea University is proud to continue the partnership with Swansea City for the forthcoming 2022/23 season. Building on our partnership with the Swans, the relationship is more than just sponsorship and extends into our elite sports offering, as well delivering support for students and the local area.
“We would like to thank everyone at Swansea City for their continued support and we look forward to what we hope will be another successful season on and off the pitch.”
The new 2022-23 home and away kits will be released soon.
