Whether it's finding out where to park, planning which talks to attend or making time to explore the local area, there are many questions which need answering before and during a University Open Day. We hope these questions help you to plan your day but if you have any further questions please contact sro@swansea.ac.uk and we will be happy to help.

Don't worry if you can't attend any of the undergraduate open days. We have other ways to visit us such as guided tours by student ambassadors on set days throughout the year or you can download our self guided tour brochure. More information is available here.

If you have any further questions about visiting us, please contact sro@swansea.ac.uk

Do I have to book to attend an open day?

Yes, please book a place in advance and bring your ticket with you.

What time does the day start and finish?

Our Open Days begin at 9am and finish at approximately 4pm but how you plan your day is up to you. All sessions and talks are listed in our Open Day Programme which will be available to download two weeks before the day.

Do I need to book tickets for accompanying family and friends?

No. Accompanying family and friends do not need to book a ticket.

Will I receive confirmation of my booking?

When you book a place on one of our Open Days you will receive an email confirmation within a few minutes. If you do not receive this email after you have made your booking please contact us on 01792 295784or email sro@swansea.ac.uk

Approximately three weeks before the Open Day you will receive another email from us with the Open Day Programme and Travel Information.

Do I need to register on the day?

Yes, please print off your ticket and bring it with you on the day. You can register your arrival at one of our registration marquees where you will receive your lanyard and event programme. If you are unable to print the ticket, you can register on the day but there may be large queues.  If you don't have time to register on arrival, you can register at any point throughout the day.

I need to make a change to my booking?

If you need to make any changes to your booking, please contact sro@swansea.ac.uk

Will I receive a programme or other information before the open day?

The Open Day Programme will be available to download from our website two weeks before the event. You will also receive a copy via email. Don't worry about printing a copy yourself as there will be plenty available to collect when you register.

Can I attend more than one departmental talk?

Yes. We expect that many visitors will be interested in more than one subject and would like to attend more than one talk. Most talks are repeated throughout the day and all talks are listed in our Open Day Programme which is available to download two weeks before the day.

We know that there are many different options in some subject areas and it can sometimes be difficult to choose between them. To help you with your decision, staff from all academic departments will be available at our Information Fair and can answer your questions and give advice. The Information Fair will be held in Fulton House (Singleton Park Campus) between 10am - 2pm.

Can I go on a campus tour?

Yes. Tours of both campuses will run throughout the Open Day and will be led by our student ambassadors. You will get the chance to ask our students all about life here at Swansea University and see all the facilities we have on offer.

Do you recommend any hotels in the area?

The Visit Swansea Bay website suggests lots of nice places to stay in Swansea. I'm afraid there is no accommodation available for Open Day visitors in University Residences.

What happens if I can't attend an Open Day?

Do I need to book any sessions in advance?

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and many sessions are repeated throughout the day to allow you to attend as many as possible. All sessions are listed in our Open Day Programme.
