Careers & Employability

Careers in the College of Engineering

Here in the College of Engineering, we are very proud of the excellent career prospects of our Engineering and Sports and Exercise Science graduates.

We are continually striving to improve the employability of our students, by cultivating strong relationships with graduate employers and by ensuring our students are as prepared as they can be for the world of work.

We work closely with Gradcracker, the careers website for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) university students. With over 150 employers advertising at any one time, there are more STEM work placements and graduate opportunities on than on any other careers website in the UK. We work closely with Gradcracker to ensure that we are up to date with graduate opportunities, placements and new employers.

Employer Visits: Annual Programme

Each academic year, we organise for graduate employers to visit our students in the College of Engineering. These visits usually involve a presentation on graduate and placement opportunities within their company, and sometimes include mock interviews. External site visits are also arranged as part of the Programme.

Our Visit Programme has included visits from Babcock, Mercedes AMG HPP, ARUP, Rolls Royce and Jaguar Landrover.

Our 2016/17 Programme will commence in September 2016. If you are a graduate employer and would like to be part of our Programme, please email
