The next in the series of free community lectures organised by the Department of Adult Continuing Education (DACE) at Swansea University takes place next month.

Professor M W Thomas is the former Director of the Centre for Research into the English Literature and Language of Wales at Swansea University. Emyr Humphreys Professor of Welsh in Writing in English, he is a specialist in American poetry and in the two literatures of Wales.
He was Chairman of the Welsh Arts Council's Literature Committee for five years and he is currently Chair of the Welsh Books Council. In June 2007 he was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the two literatures of Wales.
