The next free community lecture organised by Swansea University’s Department of Adult Continuing Education (DACE), College of Arts and Humanities, will examine the Magna Carta.

The ‘Great Charter’ issued by King John in 1215 was soon annulled and led to civil war and foreign invasion, yet it is hailed as the cornerstone of English liberty. This lecture will consider the reign of King John and the purpose of the Magna Carta.
