Oriel Science in the running for community fund vote

Oriel Science, the unique exhibition centre where Swansea University’s research is showcased to the community, is in the running to gain up to £25,000 funding from the Aviva Community Fund 2017.

Voting has begun for the fund which aims to boost charitable projects that make a difference in the community.

Organisers at Oriel Science say that the Aviva Award would be used to build on the success of the pop-up exhibition space in order to establish a permanent Oriel Science public exhibition venue in Swansea city centre.

Oriel Science Project Officer Tanya Foxall said: “The Aviva Award would help to create an exhibition centre to showcase science in the community, to target more school children particularly in hard-to-reach areas and to help Swansea University staff and students to engage more with the community. We would love it if people got involved and voted for us so we can continue with this exciting community science project.”

Voting is now open until 21st November.  Anyone who lives in the UK and registers on the Aviva Community Fund website can vote for the project here.
