Parent Guide to University Fees and Funding

For both parents and students, we know that one of the biggest concerns can be the cost of going to university.

To help you understand the overall cost of attending university, we have pulled together information on all things finance, including the costs associated with your child’s course, and any financial support available to them including loans, bursaries and scholarships.

We even have a cost of living in Swansea page, to breakdown the typical living costs in our city.

University Accomodation

We know your child living away from home can be daunting, but Swansea University has plenty of options to make them feel at home!

Finding the right accommodation can make a real difference when it comes to settling in and feeling at home which is why it's important to look at the accommodation factors that are most important to your child.

Swansea University offers guaranteed accommodation if applications are made before 30 June.

We also offer a variety of student housing across four locations, with designated areas including quiet, single sex, alcohol free, mature and Welsh speaking.

There is 24 hour security on campus and a dedicated support network that can offer help and advice throughout.

Student Support Services

Our students’ health and wellbeing is paramount, which is why Swansea University offers a number of services to assist your child throughout their time at university.

In addition to these services, the Student Support Services team is there to ensure all Swansea University students have equal opportunities. The team offers services for students experiencing difficulties, as well as more complex long-term issues. These include sensory or physical impairments, long-term medical conditions, specific learning difficulties (SpLD), autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and mental health conditions.

Helping your child prepare for university
