Have your students received offers to come to Swansea? Congratulations! The next step in their journey will be choosing where they want to live, so it’s time to talk them through their accommodation options.
At Swansea University, we offer guaranteed student accommodation for any first year student that applies for their course and their accommodation by 30th June 2024. Whether we are their firm or insurance choice, our applicants can be safe with the knowledge that they will have somewhere to stay if they decide to leave home. Applicants will receive a student number alongside their offer, and this allows them to start the process. It is advised to encourage students to submit their options as soon as they receive this number, as accommodation is allocated on a first come first served basis.
We are a campus-based university, which means our two sites are set out like student villages. Everything from lecture theatres, restaurants, shops and healthcare facilities are within a few minutes reach of the halls of residence, which brings a community feel to the university. Singleton Campus is a five minute drive to the city centre by regular bus and taxi services, or a thirty minute walk along the promenade. It sits right in the middle of a luscious green park across from the beach, providing the best of both worlds for nature lovers who want to experience city nightlife too. Shared bathroom accommodation starts at £142, and en suite rooms are offered from £147, with the option of catered or self-catered dining. Students can also request single sex, mature, alcohol free or quieter halls.
Our Bay Campus opened in 2015 and also sits on the beach front, with private sand dunes offering a peaceful study and social space to students. The Bay is located ten minutes from the city centre, with buses running every 8 minutes to keep both campuses connected. Although this campus is the smaller of the two, many sports and social activities also take place here, which provides a similar community atmosphere. All accommodation is fitted with en suite rooms, starting from £135 with premium, twin room and private flat options.
