Mr Bleddyn G L Phillips

Born to Welsh parents from Llanelli who were each educated at Swansea University (1948-51), Bleddyn is lawyer by training, having been originally called to the Bar in 1977. From 1999-2012, he was Global Head of the Oil and Gas practice at Clifford Chance LLP.  Prior to that, he was employed as a Commercial Director at the oil companies BP and Total.

He has spent periods working abroad in countries such as the USA (San Francisco), France (Paris), Singapore and Moscow.  Extensive travel in the Middle East was also  a necessary cornerstone of his practice.

Since leaving Clifford Chance, he has been closely involved with several strands of Welsh DNA - in particular rugby and music.  He is a Director of Llanelli Scarlets (a brave admission in any Swansea context) and was Chairman of London Welsh RFC from 2012 until 2016. He is also a Trustee of the Wales Millennium centre in Cardiff and sits on its Finance Committee.
