Immigration Compliance

Swansea University is a Licenced Sponsor under Tier 4 of the Points Based Immigration System. This allows the University to sponsor students from outside the EEA who wish to come to Swansea University to study on a Tier 4 visa. To retain Licenced Sponsor status and therefore the ability to recruit International Students, the University must comply with strict duties and responsibilities as required by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

The Immigration Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring, reviewing and enhancing immigration compliance across the University. This relates to students studying with a Tier 4 visa and to International members of staff, who most commonly obtain immigration permission to work in Swansea University under Tier 2.  The Immigration Compliance Officer works closely with Admissions, Student Records, Human Resources and the International Student Advisory Service, as well as staff dealing with Tier 4 students across the University.
