Getting to the Great Hall

Getting to the Bay Campus

Swansea University’s Bay Campus is easily accessible by road, rail, and air. Cardiff Airport is around an hour away by road and the M4 motorway, the main east-west arterial route from London, passes through the northern outskirts of Swansea.

Regular trains from London Paddington, South Wales and the rest of the UK arrive at Swansea's High Street Station and National Express coaches run to the Quadrant Bus Station in the city centre.

The postcode for the Bay Campus for Satnav users is SA1 8EP

By Road

From the Motorway, leave the M4 motorway at J42 (A483 Swansea) to join Fabian Way following signs for the city centre. The Bay Campus will appear on your left after passing Amazon warehouse (on your right). Entry is via a traffic controlled junction.

By Train, Bus or Coach

If you are arriving in Swansea by train, a regular and reliable bus service runs from Swansea railway station to the Quadrant Bus Station in the city centre. Alternatively the Quadrant Bus Station is a short walk or taxi ride away. Bus number 8 departs from the Quadrant Bus Station for the Bay Campus every 15 minutes.   

If you are arriving in Swansea by bus or coach you will be taken to the Quadrant Bus Station from where bus number 8 departs for the Bay Campus every 15 minutes.


Parking for Visitors to the Great Hall

Park and Ride

There is a Park and Ride facility located at Fabian Way, Swansea which is a short distance from the Bay Campus.  This facility is available from Monday to Saturday, 7am - 7.30pm and costs £2.50 per car, per day for city centre travel.  If you wish to travel to the Bay Campus using Park and Ride, there is an additional cost of £1.50 per car per day.  The total cost of using Park and Ride to travel to the Bay Campus is £4.00 per car.

Parking on Campus

Pay & display visitor parking is available at the Bay Campus. The car park is located to the East of the main campus entrance: P1 on the campus map: Bay Campus Plan

There is also a pay & display car park for the SSSI which is located just to the East of the visitors car park.

Parking for cultural event attendees

Parking is free of charge when you attend events that are part of the University’s Cultural Programme at the Great Hall. If you have booked to attend a cultural event via the Taliesin or Great Hall Box Office, you can park on campus free of charge.

Parking for event delegates

There is limited car parking available on site for event delegates. We encourage car sharing and the use of public transport. For those delegates staying in campus accommodation, complimentary parking is available in the main car park. Registration details must be provided on check-in. The event organiser will be able to issue you with clear instructions about parking arrangements for the event.

Wheelchair Users & Users with Prams & Buggies

The Great Hall is fully accessible to wheelchair users with level access throughout the Ground Floor and two public lifts to the first floor.

The first floor has level access throughout (including toilet facilities) with partial flat floor seating within the Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium itself, as well as ample seating space for wheelchair users.

If you are a wheelchair user or care for someone who uses a wheelchair, please inform the box office at time of booking.

Disabled Parking

There is limited parking for disabled guests right outside the Great Hall building. Please inform the box office that you require diabled parking at time of booking then we will make arrangements for you.

Guide Dogs

We welcome guide dogs at The Great Hall.

Feeding your child

Please feel comfortable to breastfeed at The Great Hall. Our Café Bar staff will be happy to provide hot water to warm bottles or baby food for weaning children. We also have high chairs available for use.

Baby changing

We have a baby change table in our accessible toilet. We also have lower sinks and a step stool in both the ladies and gents toilets to help with hand washing.

Opening Times

The Great Hall Box Office is open from 10am until 6pm from Monday to Friday and from 10am until 1pm and 1.30pm - 4pm on Saturdays.

Out of hours the box office is open from 2 hours prior to a performance and will remain open on performance evenings until 30 minutes after the performance starts.

The Café Bar

The Café Bar at the Great Hall is open:
