Recognised for her hard work, Melissa is a determined to succeed student, and has been a key team player in the new Applied Business Management degree group. As a student representative, Melissa has attended all boards of study on behalf of the group and given valuable feedback to the Cambria/Swansea partnership reflecting the needs of her fellow students. Quote from Early years Careers Airbus:

“Melissa is always positive and proactive, is confident presenting and putting her point across to any level within the organisation despite the fact she is in the 1st year of her respective programme”.

Melissa has been made a STEM Ambassador through her employer, has welcomed local school children to Airbus inspiring the next generation on World Book Day, has visited her former 6th Form College as a guest speaker to share her story and inspire 600 parents to push their children to aspire and achieve above and beyond expectations.  She also very recently represented Coleg Cambria in the winning team of Business in the Bay competition 2019 hosted by Swansea University in the Liberty Stadium, Swansea. Her role as Project Manager within the team helped lead them to success.

All her tutors agree that Melissa is going places. Her behaviour is exemplary, she is supportive and respectful to peers and tutors, and is already demonstrating excellent leadership qualities.  She has 100% attendance and her work is always submitted on time.

Her current tutor describes Melissa as "a great role model both for women in STEM but also as a poised and resilient young person".
